"Come Join Us For A Day Of Fun In The Sun With Our Best Friends!"

The 3rd Annual Montrose Canine Carnival, August 27, 2005

Carnival History

Beginning in September, 2003 Morningstar has joined with the local service had humane societies to host the Annual Montrose Canine Carnival. The event involves the warm-up fund raiser, a 1 Mile Walk/5K Run with Your Dog, for which participants collect pledges, and the Carnival. The Carnival events include different games, contests and demonstrations, all emphasizing the partnership between people and their dogs. It is always a wonderful day, and in the end, it is hard to say who has more fun, the participants or the audience!

Attendance has grown over the years, with over 200 enthusiastic owners and their well mannered dogs participating in the Carnival events last year. Last year proceeds from the event went to the Montrose Animal Protection Agency, Ridgway’s Second Chance animal shelter program, and the Montrose animal shelter expansion fund.

Due to the enthusiastic response from both owners and pets, Morningstar is once again sharing a key role in sponsoring the 3rd Annual Montrose Canine Carnival! This year we join MAPA and Ridgway’s Second Chance to present another "Day of Fun in the Sun with Our Best Friends."

For 2005 we are returning to the more centrally located Rotary Park (next to Columbine School.) We've continued the 1 Mile Walk/5K Run format and added even more Carnival events, a used pet supply booth, and a few short seminars. Please see the documents below for the details and plan on attending with your pooch!
